A visit to Iceland is truly unforgettable – perhaps Europe’s best remaining ‘unspoilt’ destination with a unique combination of wilderness and wildlife.

Be it spectacular scenery or a chance to see stunning birdlife, the whole island is an area of outstanding beauty, from coastal cliffs hosting colonies of seabirds to marshy habitats loved by waders and ducks in their millions and spectacular mountains and rivers between.

Our tour is designed to combine the spectacular scenery with the stunning wildlife. Not just birds either, though we’ll take in Iceland’s specialities such as Brunnich’s Guillemot, Harlequin Duck and Barrow’s Goldeneye. We’ll also have a full day at sea looking for whales – numerous around the Icelandic coast – including a great chance of seeing the mighty Blue Whale, the largest animal ever to live on earth.

With a supporting cast comprising hoards of breeding waders, including the stunning Red-necked Phalarope, ducks in their thousands and Great Northern Divers and Slavonian Grebes on roadside pools, this trip will provide memorable birding against the backdrop of glaciers, volcanoes and waterfalls.
